Anabrid produces its first micro chip
In Summer 2024, anabrid produced its first microchip, finally making the transition from a discrete electronics startup to an integrated circuit startup. „Discrete“ means rather big technology demonstrators which are already products and sell well. In contrast, „integrated“ means super tiny processor chips which have the potential to scale super large and being embedded into any kind of existing computer hardware.
The new chip is called ABRGPX1, this stands for Anabrid General Purpose Experimental Test Chip 1. It contains a number of distinct features. The highlights are:
- The first physical realization of the patented anabrid one of a kind CMOS multiplier
- The first realization of novel network interconnections of analog signals on chip
This successful tapeout marks the building block of the new family of CMOS chips made by anabrid. It dramatically derisks the ongoing development towards the first full Anabrid General Purpose Processor on Chip.
